The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
A boss fight that's just a conversation through glass, and somehow the scariest one of the decade.
Clarice Starling needs help from the one man she should never trust. Hannibal Lecter is on screen for about 16 minutes and owns the whole film. It won all five of the big Oscars, which almost never happens.
For gamers
- Proof that the scariest enemy doesn’t have to move. Lecter just talks, and you lose.
- Every psychological-horror game where the villain knows too much about you owes this film a fruit basket. A nice one, with fava beans.
- The night-vision finale is basically a stealth level where you’re the one being hunted.
