1994Pulp Fiction
A story told out of order, a briefcase nobody explains, and a dance contest that stopped time.
1995Heat
Pacino vs De Niro, one coffee-shop conversation, and the loudest bank-robbery shootout ever filmed.
1991The Silence of the Lambs
A boss fight that's just a conversation through glass, and somehow the scariest one of the decade.
1998Saving Private Ryan
Twenty-five minutes on Omaha Beach that changed war films and war games forever.
1991Terminator 2: Judgment Day
The liquid-metal T-1000 broke our brains, and the arcade light-gun game ate our pocket money.
1994Dumb and Dumber
Two best friends, a briefcase full of IOUs, and the most annoying sound in the world.
2003Death Note
A notebook that kills anyone whose name you write in it. Technically not 90s, but it's on my desk, so it's in.
1995Ghost in the Shell
Cyborgs, hackers and rain-soaked neon, years before cyberpunk became a video game genre.
1993Jurassic Park
"It's a UNIX system! I know this!" The first time a kid on a computer saved the day.
1999The Matrix
The decade's last word. Bullet time, green code rain, and sunglasses indoors.
Quiz videos I made a while back: guess the game, the show, the movie and the theme tune. Fair warning: the narrator is an early AI voice, back when I was still learning (and before I took the no-AI pledge for the music). The questions, the picks and the bragging rights are all human.
