Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
The liquid-metal T-1000 broke our brains, and the arcade light-gun game ate our pocket money.
“I’ll be back” became the thing every kid said walking out of every room in 1991. T2 was the first time CGI felt real: the T-1000 rising out of the checkered floor is still burned into our retinas.
Why it matters to gamers
- The T2 arcade cabinet (1991) with its mounted Uzi light guns was a corner-shop legend.
- It set the template for the “unstoppable pursuer” that games still copy, from Resident Evil’s Nemesis to Mr. X.
- The red-tinted HUD of the T-800’s vision is basically a video game UI.
Our verdict
10/10 HASTA LA VISTA. Still the best sequel ever made. Fight us in the guestbook.
